Dealer Trade Driver: Part Time & ON-CALL position.
To apply for this job you must have a valid driver license with endorsements as required by government agencies, driving record acceptable to Kendall insurance companies, be able to lift 100 pounds, and currently have or have ability to pass physical for DOT Medical Card. Experience driving a fifth wheel trailer and securely strapping down loads is required. Must be able to respond on short notice to on-call assignments. Position averages 40 working hours per MONTH and with occasional overnight stays. A set number of hours per week are not guaranteed. Position will be paid on a per hour wage rate.
DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Deliver and pick-up vehicles from other dealerships and facilities.
Respond on short notice to on-call assignments.
Operate vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspect vehicles for damage and properly document it.
Complete and verify necessary paperwork in conjunction with vehicle trades, purchases and deliveries.
Inspect vehicles as necessary for safe operation, make or arrange corrections, maintenance and repairs as appropriate.
Deliver and pick-up documents, and obtain signatures as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Valid driver license with endorsements as required by government agencies.
Driving record acceptable to Kendall insurance companies.
Experience driving a fifth wheel trailer and securely strapping down loads.
Ability to read map and operate a GPS.
Ability to lift 100 pounds.
DOT Medical Card- ability to pass physical to obtain Medical Card.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Works both indoors and outdoors, and within motor vehicles for extensive periods. Outdoors work is exposed to ambient heat and cold, and to sun, rain, snow and other weather conditions. Work shifts may be up to fourteen hours in length, with eleven hours of driving.
VEHICLES OR MOVING EQUIPMENT DRIVEN AS PART OF JOB:
A wide variety of cars, light trucks, and vans are driven. Both manual and automatic transmissions must be operated.
Standing/walking for short distances: less than ¼ of work shift, on hard surfaces.
Sitting: Greater than ¾ of work shift, in motor vehicles.
Carrying: occasionally, less than 100 pounds for up to 500 feet.
Bending and twisting: occasionally, to inspect vehicles, and to enter and exit vehicles.
Reaching above shoulder height: occasionally, primarily to assist in entering vehicle.
Can change positions only infrequently due to driving requirements.
Hearing and speech capability adequate to give and receive information to and from contacts at dealerships, both in person and by telephone.
Sight adequate to inspect vehicles for damage, and meet driver's license standards, including driving outside of daylight hours.
